CCA SeaTac Banquet

I would like to thank banquet chair Shawn Seeger and chapter president Frank Eshpeter for inviting me to help emcee the 3rd annual CCA SeaTac auction with Spot Tail Salmon Guide and auctioneer Keith Robbins. The event was held at the Pioneer Park Pavilion in Puyallup and was well attended by over 170 people.  It was good to see quite a few familiar faces and meet a few new ones as well.

Despite the poor economy many companies donated and a special thanks goes out to Alaskan Brewing and Budweiser for stepping up in a big way.  Quite a few corporate tables stepped up in a big way during the auction as well.  Coastal Steel Inc and Mapsco were two of them and a special thanks goes out to them and all the other bidders and volunteers as well.  Wine tasting parties, new fishing gear, guided trips and fishing in Alaska were all very popular and if you have not attended a CCA Auction this year you need to do so.  It is a great time to meet fellow anglers and to introduce some people that might not be sportsmen but might embrace what CCA is doing.  Go to www.ccapnw.org for a complete schedule of events and banquets in the northwest.

Bear Holmes was having a good time using my bidder card while I was up on stage.  I had given some detailed instructions on a few items that I wanted to bid on but for some reason I kept seeing my number raised a little too often.  It sure is fun spending someone else's money, eh Bear?  For the night I ended up walking out the door with a 120 qt. Yeti cooler, a gift certificate for a family portrait (your welcome sweetie), and a CCA logo cooler bag stuffed full of gear and a chance to win a flat screen tv.

Lastly, I would just like to mention that all the money raised, except $25 of the ticket price which pays for annual membership, stays right here in the State of Washiington.  All of the people that donated time, auction items, and money have made a real difference in efforts to recover our depleted fisheries.
